Top Tips On How To Keep Feet Warm

At Lasko heater we have all experienced lying at home on a cold winters day, snug and warm underneath a blanket, with one slight problem, our feet are cold!

The feet are often the hardest part of your body to warm up, which can prove uncomfortable and annoying. This article aims to educate you on the art of feet warming, giving plenty of top tips on how to keep those tootsies warm.

How To Keep Feet Warm Indoors

Change your socks: If you’ve been in the same pair of socks all day, the chances are they are damp from your feet sweating. The sweat will be dampening your feet which will be the cause of them feeling cold.

Cover Your Feet With A Hot Water Bottle: This tip can bring instant relief to cold feet. It is advisable to make sure the hot water bottle has some kind of cover on it and to test the temperature out first before placing straight onto your feet.

Wearing socks is highly recommended to remove the risk of buring your skin. Be sure not to fall asleep or leave the hot water bottle on for to long, as it will eventually cool, meaning the temperature in your feet will drop.

Put on Warm Extra Thick Socks: There are many extra thick socks available for consumers to buy, and investing in a pair to combat cold feet is often a wise investment. Woolen socks are more insulated than cotton or polyester and are therefore more effective at heating your feet. Its always a good idea to rub your feet together with the socks on, to create extra warmth.

// ]]>

Put Your Feet In a Bucket Of Warm Water: This may seem like a very logical suggestion, but works really well in heating your feet. You may even want to invest in a foot massager for some extra luxury!

Do Some Excercise: This is the last thing on some peoples minds, but can be a great way to warm your feet. For those of you that detest excercise, we aren’t talking about a full fledged workout here, just some in-ergetic foot routines. Standing on your tiptoes and then the flats of your feets is a great little workout, as is simply stretching out your toes, which well help to warm your feet in no time.

Wrap Your Feet In A Blanket: Pretty self explanotory, but make sure the blanket is wrapped all the way round your feet.

Rub On Lotion: Rubbing your feet with cream or lotion is a great little tip that really works in the relief of cold feet. Be sure to massage the lotion in for a short time to feel the benefits.

Throw Your Socks In the Dryer: Again something really simple, but yet highly effective. There’s no better feeling than covering cold feet with toasty socks.

Whichever method you decide to use, always make sure its safe and you don’t put yourself in danger of burning your feet.

Top Tips To Getting Warm This Winter

Keeping warm in the winter is one of my main priories, I absolutely hate the feeling of being cold, my teeth chatter, my legs shake and my brain simply doesn’t function. You may be wondering why a site reviewing Lasko heaters is giving advice on keeping warm? To sell you a heater of course! No, just kidding this article aims to give top, tips and advice for feeling warm this winter

There are a number of reasons that people are unable to heat their homes to a satisfactory level. Poor college students, old drafty houses, dad to cheap to turn the furnace on?! Whatever the reason the main priority is to feel warm again, check out our top tips below and by trying some of them out you will be feeling warm in no time!

Drink Something Warm

Wrapping your hands around a nice cup of English tea or a coffee is a great feeling, it will help to make you feel warm as-well. Maybe have a cocoa before bed time, not only will it help you sleep, but will warm your insides!

Cover Your Head

You may feel a bit stupid wearing a woolly hat indoors, but who can see you? and do you really care. Scientific study has confirmed that a large percentage of body heat is lost through your head. Wearing a hat and socks in bed is also a great way to keep warm at night.

Do the Washing

Sounds a bit silly, but clothes straight out the tumble dryer let off a great amount of heat. The dryer itself will be letting off heat, meaning 2 heat sources and some nice fresh laundry at the same time!

Use A Humidifier

Its a fact that humidified air feels a lot warmer. The Lasko humidifier is a great device and very reasonable in price. If you haven’t got a humidifier, then opening the bathroom door when you take a shower can be equally as effective.

Get Your Partner To Help

Snuggling up to your partner is not only great for the relationship, but will also help make you feel warm.

Change Your Bedding

By Switching to flannel sheets and putting extra blankets on your bed, your sure to feel a lot warmer at night.

Look At Changing The Decor

Its fair to say that the reason you may be cold is because you have money issues and simply can’t afford to heat your home effectively, if this is the case then changing the decor probably won’t be fee-sable, as it will cost money. If you live in a naturally drafty home however, changing color schemes in certain rooms and also adding rugs to hardwood floors, can help a great deal in making you feel warm.

Let The Sun In

Cold nights are often met with very sunny days, so be sure to open all windows and blinds, to get as much heat from the sun as possible.

Do Some Housework

And if your really, really struggling to let some heat in you could always clean the house. Vacuum cleaning is sure to build up a sweat!

A Helping Hand With Your Lasko Humidifier

Here at Lasko room heater, we published an article outlining the benefits a Lasko humidifier can bring to your household. With furnaces working at full capacity during the winter months, indoor air can soon become dry which can often cause sore throats and dry noses. The humidifier will release moisture into atmosphere, which will produce a far more comfortable living environment.

The Lasko humidifier has been designed with the up-most thought and precision, delivering exactly what it was manufactured to do. The humidifier is both energy efficient and easy to maintain, unlike many other makes and models. For owners of the product, troubleshooting problems and finding answers to questions regarding the device is often time consuming and annoying. This article aims to provide owners with a comprehensive guide in finding solutions to those questions and problems.

Questions And Answers For The Lasko Humidifier

Where can I find the model number for the humidifier?

The model number can be located in 2 places, on the side of the unit and also molded to the base. Finding the model number on the side is obviously going to be easier than having to empty it and lay it flat to locate the number on the bottom. You will notice a small sticker on the side, where the cord comes out. The sticker will say “Model” or “MDL” followed by a four digit number, if you haven’t already guessed this is your model number!

How Often Should I Replace My Filters?

Maintaining the Lasko humidifiers performance, lies heavily on changing the filters each season. The filters are inexpensive to buy, with full instructions on how to change the filter here.

How Often Should I Clean My Lasko Humidifier?

The frequency of cleaning depends on the amount of impurities which can be found in the water, or how much the device is used. As a general rule, once every 2 weeks will be perfectly sufficient.

How do I clean my device?

Many consumers shudder at the thought of having to clean their humidifier. They believe it to be a complicated and messy task. Luckily the Lasko has been manufactured in a way that cleaning is both simple and quick. For full details on how to clean your Lasko humidifier click here

What is the humidistat feature and how does it work?

The humidistat control allows owners to set the humidity to their desired level. Once the humidifier identifies it has reached the desired humidity it will switch off, saving you money with your energy bill.

How Does The Timer Function Work On The Lasko Humidifier?

This handy function will allow you to set the amount of time you want the humidifier to work for, before switching itself off. This feature is very handy if you run the humidifier while you are asleep.

Whats The Maximum Amount Of Time The Humidifier Can Run For?

The great thing about this product is it can run 24hrs a day 7 days a week. It will obviously need water in it, to increase humidity, so if you are running it for long periods of time, be sure to top up regularly.

Lasko 3520 20-Inch Cyclone Pivot Fan

Here at Lasko Room heater we specialize in giving reviews, help and guidance on a variety of Lasko products. For those of you not familiar with the Lasko company, I can tell you they have been manufacturing and selling quality home appliances since the early 1900′s.

Their product range is vast and includes tower fans, window fans, a wide range of heaters and of course the 3520 20-Inch Cyclone Pivot Fan, which we will be reviewing in this article.

Functions And Capabilities Of The Lasko 3520

As the name suggests the Lasko 3520 produces a cyclone of cool air, making the fan ideal for larger open spaces like a garage or workshop. The adjustable fan head pivots and locks in place, which means precision comfort for owners. For a device that produces such a strong current of cool air, it’s extremely lightweight and includes a convenient carrying handle for easy transportation.

Cooling large areas with AC units can use a lot of energy, resulting in large utility bills. The Lasko 3520 adopts an energy efficient operating system, saving you money.

The Fan has 3 settings, high, medium and low. The highest setting really does feel like a cyclone, and would only really need to be used to cool a large area in immense heat. The lowest setting is not surprisingly the quietest and in comparison with other fans in this price range would be the equivalent output to their highest setting. The device uses roughly 70,90 and 130 watts respectively in each setting.

As far as the design features go, the Lasko is as attractive looking as any other 20″ fan. Buyers looking for a device with sleek design features, to compliment the decor in their home, should look to Laskos range of Tower Fan for a possible solution. The 3520 will fit nicely on a window ledge cooling an open plan apartment comfortably.

At just $26.99 from Amazon, the Lasko 3520 is exceptional value for money, if your looking for a cheap, well made, powerful fan to keep you cool this summer, then look no further, you have just stumbled upon your best option.

How Well Can The Lasko Room Heater (5365) Heat Your Room?

The 5365 is a Lasko room heater with style. The device is great for heating medium sized rooms, circulating a steady stream of warm air evenly. The heaters space saving design, means it only takes up one square foot of floor space and can be placed anywhere in your room.

Lasko are renowned for making high quality, reasonably priced appliances and in our opinion this has to be one of the best. The heater is priced at just $47, but on first inspection looks more like a $80-$100 device. If ordered from Amazon, it will arrive in super quick time and is packaged well. It’s 30 tall” and the base is a 12″ circle. The top part is about 7.5″ wide at the top (the widest part).

It’s pedestal design makes the heater a little taller than a conventional tower heater, which is great for rooms with high ceilings.

The Lasko room heater has a convenient and lightweight carrying handle, perfect for transporting from room to room. At the bargain price of $47 you may even decide to purchase 2, one for upstairs and one for down, this of course is entirely up to you! On receiving your room heater, there is little assembly work to be done, consisting mainly of the tightening of screws.

Controls And Performance Of The Lasko Room Heater

The controls are situated in sensible places on the heater, they do exactly what they are supposed to do and are easy to operate. The settings include a 1500-watt high setting (5118 BTUs), a 900-watt low setting (3070 BTUs) There are 2 fan speed settings with the lowest being particularly quiet, something uncommon on a room heater of this type, but yet very welcome. The LCD display shows the room temperature and thermostat settings clearly, leaving owners of the Lasko room heater not having to play guessing games for this information.

The remote control is a very nice touch, especially for someone like me, who is lazy by nature! There is an overheat protection system, installed for safety and peace of mind, although the device won’t automatically shutoff if it tips over. If I could change anything and there is actually only 1 thing, I would add an auto low setting. Adding this functionality would decrease the amount of times the Lasko room heater came on and off, resulting in less energy being used.

Choosing Replacements Filters For Your Lasko Humidifier

The company behind manufacturing the Lasko humidifier have been around since the early 1900′s. Since that time Lasko have become recognized for producing innovative, quality household products.

Their product range is vast and includes room heaters, tower fans, window fans and of course the humidifier.

The Lasko humidifier has caused many consumers to lead a healthier lifestyle. Indoor air can quickly become dry during the winter months, leading to sore throats and dry noses. The device operates by way of it’s fan blowing across a moist filter, this causes the water to evaporate, leading to the humidifier releasing cool, clean moisture into the atmosphere.

Lasko Humidifier Filter Options

The filter plays a huge part in the effective output of the device and must be replaced on a regular basis. Excessive use of the filter, will lessen it’s ability to trap contaminants, resulting in the moisture it releases to be less clean.

Replacement filters are designed for specific models of the Lasko humidifier, meaning choosing the right type is highly important. Many customers become nervous at the potential cost that may be involved, when needing replacement parts for household appliances, in this case it’s minimal.

The THF8 Lasko Humidifier Wick Filter is an obvious choice and compatible with models 1128, 1129, and 9930. The filters are 8 x 11 1/2 x 1 1/2 in size and come with antimicrobial agent as standard. The filters are treated with the agent to prevent fungi and bacteria from growing in the device. With a price tag of around 6 bucks and the promise of a single filter lasting a whole season, this really is a cost-effective replacement for your device.

The THF15 is compatible with the 1115. This filter boasts the same impressive features as the THF8 and is only different in size. As mentioned it’s very important that the filter is replaced every season, failing to do this could result in permanent damage to your Lasko humidifier and a lack of clean moisture in the atmosphere. With the replacements costing around 6 bucks and lasting months and months, you’d be a fool not to.

How To clean Your Lasko Tower Fan

Ok, so the Lasko tower fan has been a great addition to your household, the days of unbearable living conditions are a distant memory as your fan functions impressively to keep you cool.

The summer is only mid-way through and one of the hottest on record, and after weeks of continual use the Lasko is looking rather dusty and although functioning well, not quite as well as it was.

Nothing to fear here, my fellow fan owners, the only required action to take is to give it a good clean.

The steps to clean the device are about to be laid out, and are very simple to follow. Carrying out cleans on a regular basis, are the key to keeping your Lasko tower fan in tip top condition, ensuring it works at full capacity to keep you cool.

Steps to Take In Cleaning Your Lasko Tower fan

The first step is to mix a few drops of fairy liquid, or other washing up liquid solution with warm water in a spray bottle.

After your cleaning solution has been prepared, it’s time to remove the front grill from the fan. The grill is removed by releasing the tabs which are located between the front and back grills, once the tabs are released, you can carefully remove the grill.

The fans blades will now be visible and are ready to be cleaned. Using the washing up liquid solution and a clean dry cloth wipe clean the blades ensuring the fans motor is not touched.

After you are satisfied with the cleanliness of the blades attach the front grill and your fan will be ready for use.

Told you it was simple, didn’t I! I think the main point to take account of, is the care you need to take in removing the grill, you may be tempted to be a little heavy handed if it doesn’t remove easily, which could lead to a broken device! Ensuring you don’t touch the motor when wiping the blades is equally important and could result in harmful damage to your Lasko Tower Fan.

Top Tip

I thought I’d take this opportunity, to give you a top tip to enhance the performance of your Lasko Tower Fan and keep your household room even cooler during the hottest part of the day. By closing your curtains and blinds (very simple I know) you stop cool air which the Lasko is circulating around the given space escaping, and being replaced with warm air.

Lasko Fans are built and manufactured to last for many years and come with a guarantee, in the unlikely event your fan encounters problems, please be sure to contact Lasko immediately for help and guidance.

What Makes The Lasko Wind Curve So Good?

The first point to make before going into the functions & capabilities of the Lasko Wind Curve, is that if ordered from Amazon the fan will arrive in super quick time and appear at your doorstep packaged well and in pristine condition. (This site is not affiliated with Amazon by the way!)

After receiving your fan you will find that the wind curve boasts a sophisticated wind curve profile, fresh air ionizer technology and oscillation providing fresh air throughout your whole room.

There are several models of the Lasko Wind Curve available for you to purchase, all are pleasing on the eye and will fit in with any decor in your home. We particularly like the wood on the front of the Lasko 42″ wind curve and design features of the 2551

You could describe it as the ‘monster’ of the fan family, weighing in at 15.5 pounds the wind curve is no lightweight product, proving it’s sturdy and built to last. The supportive base attached to the bottom ensures it’s not moving anywhere unless you move it yourself.

Attractive To The Eye & Great In Performance-Lasko Wind Curve

The wind curve utilizes minimal space while providing maximum air distribution via three different speeds. The first speed provides a relatively light breeze, that gets the air moving around the room. The second speed starts to open up the fan, blowing papers and other light objects around the room if lying around.

The third speed is in a league of it’s own and extremely powerful, this setting will be too powerful for a lot of households, however well-insulated rooms with few windows and a lack of air conditioning will benefit immensely. Each speed can be set and changed accordingly.

The Lasko Wind Curve is tall in size, which is great for circulating a greater amount of air. The fan is controlled by buttons on the top of the device or via a remote control, both of which are simple and straight-forward to operate.

The remote even has it’s own little storage pouch at the back of the fan. Other features include a convenient electronic timer for up to 7.5 hours of operation.

The model has vertical slits, that run from the base to the top, which help to push the air around in your home. On the back of the fan there are horizontal slits that pull air in and force it through the internal blades thus creating a nice breeze.

The fan does make a slight noise as does the air that’s being pushed around. This isn’t something terrible and can sometimes be relaxing.

Taking up very little floor space, the wind curve tucks very nicely into corners or out of the way areas. It performs particularly well in high traffic areas like the kitchen or family room, which can often get unbearably hot and stuffy.

The ionizer is a plus, taking care of smells from the kitchen and the carrying handle is great for transporting from room to room. The fused plug provides safety and peace of mind.

It doesn’t have filters that need to be changed, and as long as you dust it every now and then, will remain clean and in good working order. The ionizer, the variable speeds, and the ability to electronically set a timer on use are all great selling features of this fan. Combine those features with the powerful modes, the nice little remote, and the great aesthetic feel of the fan, and you can see why this fan comes highly recommended and value for money.

It comes with a 1 year warranty and a customer support team based in the US.

Is the Lasko 751320 Really That Good?

This article examines the benefits, features and problems of the Lasko 751320. In a nutshell the 751320 is a ceramic tower heater, providing an ideal space saving heating solution for any room in your home.

It’s Primary Features Include:

Widespread Oscillation

A Programmable Thermostat

Automatic Overheat Protection

A Remote Control with Batteries

Touch-Control Operation

A Convenient Carrying Handle

A 7 Hour Timer

and Several Quiet Comfort Settings

First impressions of the Lasko 751320 are positive. It has a modern, sleek look which will fit in with any home decor and it’s small size ensures it will not take up to much room. The remote control is a great feature I particularly like (i’m lazy) and controls the programmable thermostat, seven hour timer and two quiet-comfort settings.

Settings Of The Lasko 751320 Include:

1500-watt high setting (5118 BTUs)

900-watt low setting (3070 BTUs)

as well as a thermostat-controlled automatic setting.

The rotation is smooth, making the 751320 one of the quietest heaters available. It provides effective consistent heating through it’s elongated ceramic heating element, penetrating air velocity and widespread oscillation. It’s small footprint and quiet operation will lead you wondering where the heat is coming from at times.

The Lasko 751320′s cord can become warm after hours of continuous use. Hardly anything to worry about-as we are talking barely warm here, but still something to mention and take note of. Another slight groan could be that the LED display is located on the top, meaning you can’t see it from the front if your are seated, I guess if the heater is performing as it should be though, you have no real need to look at the LED display.

The programmable thermostat ensures the heater switches itself off when the desired temperature is reached saving energy and money. Widespread oscillation ensures the whole room gets warm and not just the area directly in front of the heater.

The convenient carrying handle is a particularly nice feature and makes transporting from room to room easy.

Many consumers are mistaken by the real functions and capabilities of a space heater, believing it will heat their whole home, or large open space. These heaters are designed to heat small-medium rooms quickly, with that said, you simply can’t do better than the Lasko 751320.

If this heater doesn’t work for you, then you are looking at the wrong specification of heater and suggest you look at Lasko 755320. The 751320 comes with a 3 year warranty and all the help and support you need from Lasko customer support based in the US.

Things You Should Know About The lasko 754200

The Lasko 754200 is a ceramic space heater with adjustable thermostat. It comes with a very appealing price tag, that scares some potential buyers into the thinking the heater will not be up to much. This article examines the benefits, problems and primary features.

With traditional heaters, it can take a very long time to start generating heat, the Lasko 754200 starts generating as soon as you switch on, meaning your room is heated in a short space of time.

The heater is the perfect answer to the chilly mornings when you are first one out of bed and your house is freezing cold, it’s perfect for heating a small room acting by acting as a small fireplace.

The unit itself is plastic, with a metal grille and feels sturdy. It features straight forward operating controls and it’s small size is perfect for ensuring effective consistent heating without getting in the way. It has a convenient carrying handle attached, which is great to transport from floor to table, or room to room. Unfortunately it doesn’t include extra features like a remote control or digital display although the cheap price has to be brought into consideration when noting it’s lack of added features.

The lasko 754200 has three settings:

1500-watt high setting.
900-watt low setting.
Fan-only option, which produces general, no-heat air circulation.

The adjustable thermostat is a very handy tool, not only will it save you money, by reducing the energy the heater uses, but will save you overheating and sweating prefusley. If safety is of concern, the thermostat ensures the unit shuts off when the desired temperature is reached, meaning it has little time to overheat and become dangerous.

If you are expecting to spend $20 on a heater that heats your entire home, this isn’t going to fulfill your needs. The lasko 754200 is for heating small to medium rooms only. The fan noise level is far from silent, but is acceptable and quiet enough not to interfere with you watching your favorite show on TV.

Unfortunately the unit is not blessed with a safety switch, meaning knocking it over will result in it shutting down-a point to note when deciding where to place it.

As mentioned earlier many people are concerned with safety when it comes to space heaters. Thankfully, Lasko has taken it upon themselves to make this one as safe as possible. Compared to much more expensive heaters available, the Lasko 754200 is just as good, if not better and at a fraction of the price. It comes with a 3 year warranty and excellent customer support, from a support team based in the US.
